ANNOUNCEMENT

The Brazilian Association of Electrical Engineers – ABEE/SC, announces that, in view of the sentence handed down by the Federal Court of Rio do Sul in case no. 2008.72.13.001046-1 and maintained by the Regional Federal Court of the 4th Region, in view of the Enforcement Action of this sentence, it resolved, together with CREA/SC, to agree on a composition aiming to operationally enable compliance with what was decided by the Judiciary.
The signed judicial settlement was approved on October 10, 2018, concluding a lawsuit initiated in 2008, whose declaratory judgment merely recognized what had always been enshrined in the Professional Legal System. Therefore, it is a mistake to think that ABEE/SC sought to establish a right. On the contrary: it merely sought compliance with the Law and CONFEA Resolutions, and it was in this sense that the Judiciary took its position.
From now on, the Specialized Chamber of Electrical Engineering-CEEE will be responsible for
terms of the Law and CONFEA Resolution No. 1,073, apply the understanding consolidated by the Judiciary, releasing certain activities in the electrical area for other modalities, under the rigor of academic training.
It is essential to highlight that the institutional performance of a Professional Oversight Council such as CREA must be guided by the interests of society, with regard to monitoring the ethical and legal performance of professionals, establishing safe criteria for professional practice.
For professionals from other modalities who have been acting based on the prerogatives recognized by the Judiciary to Electrical Engineers, the Specialized Chamber of Electrical Engineering-CEEE, under the terms of the Law and CONFEA Resolution No. 1073, will carry out the respective approval of the attributions.
ABEE/SC, respecting the decision made by the Judiciary, understood that this composition with CREA/SC would be viable, representing a viable alternative in
in favor of the protection of all citizens who may require services related to electrical engineering, while reiterating the prerogatives of the Confea/Crea System with regard to the condition of guaranteeing protection to the protected society.
